The issue of standing vs. sitting...last Sat. at our game, I had a young couple that came in about 5 minutes late in the 1st. quarter. Young lady informed me that I was in "their" seats...I kindly told her that she was mistaken since I've been in these same seats for 25 years. They were State fans and they were in the wrong row, they belonged in the seats in front of us. I guess the couple in front of us sold their tickets which really surprised me...
The guy sat down with his GF sitting on his lap, that didn't last long though, He asked her to stand while he planted his ass back down and started wiggling around, trying to make room. Not going to work much when you come in late and everyone has kind of spread out. He started to stand, at first when others in front of him stood but then eventually he just stood up. After a few plays, the guy behind me asked him to sit (another Sparty), he begrudgingly did but you could tell this wasn't going well. I leaned forward, told him that if others stood, I'd understand but since no one had been standing, he'd be better sitting down. I was about ready to ask him to sit since my wife was having trouble too.
Why would you go to a visiting Stadium and put yourself in that position? Are you that self-centered? If the people stood in front of his GF, she'd been in the same predicament, don't you take inventory around you and maybe notice that there might be some youngsters sitting behind? Both women that were on each side of me, are no more than 5 feet tall...this clown was maybe 6'2"/6'3".
The funny thing was, once the rain came, they disappeared. Shocked how so many people were unaware of the rain forcast or they just don't care.
