I’ve now heard Valenti, Comp and Dorsey talk about UM’s pre and post game actions and relate it back to the rivalry to say alright, now it’s on.

Gotta say I disagree with them. This is the case of two ships passing in the night. One team’s ascending while the other begins to fall off. I think we’ll look back on MSU’s win in ‘17 and draw a lot of comparisons to UM’s win over MSU in ‘07. Both teams won games they probably shouldn’t have in those seasons and it built up a little false bravado and covered up some signs of rot within the program. Things may have looked like they were alright, but things definitely were not alright.

I’d rather that guys like Winovich and Bush not do the talking after the game though. Those guys won’t be around next year to back it up so don’t put your teammates in that kind of a spot where they’re having to fight your battles. If that’s Dwum or Aubrey Solomon, hey, say what you’ve got to say because you’ll be back next season to handle it. But if you’re on you’re way out, prolly best to let those coming next to do the talking.

On the whole, my guess is that this is the last time that MSU will be seen as a significant road block to where we’re going, at least for awhile. We’re not just better than them, we’re now on a whole different level. The difference in roster depth between the two programs is staggering. I’m not saying that we should begin to expect 49 - 3 beatdowns, but double digit wins should become the norm. The fog is finally lifting.
