This article states that Rutgers and Michigan coaches are visiting Paramus HS to see Rashan Gary. Per the article Brandon Brown wrote yesterday,There is to be no contact between coaches and prospects.
but the article concludes with "According to NCAA rules, college coaches can visit prospective recruits from now until May 31." which contradicts Brandon's article which further elaborates on the topic:
On contact between college coaches and prospects during the evaluation period:[/B]
"The coaches aren't allowed to have contact with the prospects," Weber stated. "They are allowed to set up meetings with the coaches that they are going to go see but they can't have any contact with prospects at all. When they go in to the school they aren't talking to the players. The rule is that you can't have any type of arrangement. You can't say to a coach, 'I'll be there at 11, make sure that "Johnny" is also there.' That would be a violation.
"If the high school coach brings a player over to a college coach the college coach is supposed to terminate the communication as fast as possible."
So what is the real story. Does the author of this article just have faulty information and knowledge of the rules?
