There are some coaches that are fantastic at coaching amazing talent (4/5 star recruits) like Dabo, Urban, and Saban and then there are coaches that are amazing at taking 2/3 star recruits that have been rejected by most good schools and getting them to perform really well, like Dantonio. When JH was coaching at Stanford and at SD, he never really had amazing talent during the recruiting trails - he had to develop it. I am wondering if perhaps he should go back to his bread and butter and bringing in hungry kids that have a massive chip on their shoulders and if he really knows how to bring the best out of highly touted recruits? Not implying anything just asking.
2 years ago, OSU had about as much youth on their team as we did and they were a powerhouse. We have so many problems as a team right and not sure who is at fault - the coaches or the kids or both. 16 penalties, half of which are completely unnecessary. Terrible route running. We stop at times before the whistle is over. We have made no progress on offense at all this year. For a coach that is supposed to be the "QB whisperer" if O'Korn is the best product we can put out on the field, then I am not sure what hope I have for the next 3 years. If O'Korn is genuinely better then Peters, god help us for the next few years! Our RBs seem to be getting worse at blocking. Our WRs have no idea which routes to run. Our 2016 WR recruiting haul might end up going down as the worst one in Michigan history - Crawford, Johnson, McDoom. Our punter is terrible. Our O-line can't seem to ever put together a drive where they are all on the same page, ever and we lose the 2 O-linemen next year and seem to know how to play their position. I expected growing pains this year but we will need to make "remarkable" improvements to even have a half-way decent offense next year.
