I have never seen so many fair catches on punts that I can remember. No matter if it is a short punt or long punt. I can think of 2 or 3 Peppers returns all season. I do like he comes up to get the ball on shanks, and doesnt let it bounce around.
All that said, it seems like the team has chosen to put pressure on the kicker rather than setup for a return. Other than one nice return on Saturday by Pep everything else was a fair catch.
ON most kicks I would even like to see a protector back there for him. I want to see what he has. Everytime I see them going at the kicker I cringe there is going to be a big penalty, and instead they could have setup for the best athlete on the team to have a nice return.
