Hello Michigan fans! What do you think the score will be to this weekend's game against Iowa? Our offense has struggled, but a night game at Kinnick makes me think Ferentz will have a few tricks up his sleeve for you guys! We had a rough week, but we always respond well with our backs against the wall.

I'm guessing you guys win a squeaker - UM 31 - Iowa 28.

What's everyone else think?

I think Michigan wins - Iowa at night is a very tough place to play. I have been to that stadium and it can get very loud. I think our defense has some holes but I get the sense that Iowa does not have the athletes to truly exploit it. They do have a pretty solid QB who is mobile and a pretty good TE so they will score on us. On the other side of the ball their DB is in the same category as Jourdan Lewis but with the emergence of Chesson in addition to Darboh I like the balance we have.

I think it will be something like a 27-17 type game. The weather forecast with a low of 39 and high of 60 will actually help us given how many speedsters and players we have from Florida :)

Personally, if we win the next 6 games by the score of 2-0 every single game, I would be ecstatic.

I wish I had hope for this game but I don't as an Iowa fan. While I think Michigan is beatable it would take a hell of a game from Iowa to do it and I dont think they have it in them. They looked like they would rather be getting a root canal than play that second half at Penn St this weekend.

Think Iowa plays well but just not able to score when they need to on your D.

31-17

I just learned that a client of my -- a huge Iowa fan -- is taking his private Jet to the game. I was invited, sorta of, but I only have UM stuff to wear (although its warm in his private box). He asked me the final score. I said UM by 30 or so. He asked why? I said that if PSU can hang 41 on these guys UM can do even more. The invitation wasn't firmed up.

And why all the concern about the UM defense. I don't care if an opponent gains 1000 yards as long as he doesn't score. I'd like to end up #1 in scoring defense rather than any other stat you can throw at me.

I could care less about being 1 in defense scoring...as long as we score 1 more point then our opponents every game from this point forward, the rankings and stats by category are irrelevant. If we win 41-40 over Iowa, I will take it :) Care about the W and no other stat.

Yeah, especially since margin of victory isn't taken into consideration by the CFP committee.

Iowa has one play-maker on their offense. Akrum Wadley. That's IT.

Iowa may do their thing and play stouter-than-usual defense and make it a low-scoring, field-position affair.

So perhaps they keep it close.

But even if their defense over-performs, Iowa's lack of play-makers is going to seriously hinder their chances of actually winning.

It's hard to see them scoring more than 10-14 points.

I agree. This game (best care scenario) for Iowa is the Alabama/LSU game. One team can score more than the other.

UM would have to make some mistakes but I see a 27-10 type score.

as a UM fan born and raised in iowa i have to say you have some hope even predicting a 14 point game

if both teams play how they have MOST of the season michigan wins by 21+

48-13 Michigan wins, Iowa doesn't score in the first half. Lone TD happens in the final 5:00 of the game.

There are a lot of you posting a close game with an inferior team. Yes, they will play hard and we will be in hostile Territory however, the talent gap is so huge between us and them I am not sure how they are going to stop us or put any points on the board that would be significant.

What statistics from "this year" is everyone basing the game on? What eye test has Iowa shown that makes people think they are a threat to Michigan, a team that more and more looks like it could beat Alabama on any given Saturday? I am confused...which isn't hard to do, but I still want to know

I think Iowa is going to try MSU ball from 1st drive. Keep the ball out of the hands of UM.

Crowd will make it tough. I just think that plays into the hands of UM. Wadley is very good. They way to attack UM is to look at the Colorado game and what Maryland did...beat them in space with rb's or slot wr's against their lb'ers. Quick passes.

Having a pro style stationery qb with long developing plays is exactly what Brown prefers.

Colorado and Maryland did have success with that approach. The problem with Iowa is they have nobody with the quickness needed out there, while those other two teams had 2+ guys each who could function that way.

Michigan has been red hot on offense. I think they jump out to a quick 21 point lead at the half and cruise in the 2nd half. Iowa isn't going to try to make the score look better than it is in the 2nd half like MSU. That was MSU's whole season, and they were able to make it look vaguely competitive to those who didn't watch the game.
