I'm going to assume that Walton, LeVert, Irvin, and Doyle are going to start. Here's what I think is the order of probability for the 5th starter:
1a. Aubrey Dawkins - This would slide Irvin to the 4 defensively and could be the best defensive option. Aubrey is a proven offensive weapon with great potential. Is he too similar to Irvin? Giving him the slight edge over Robinson because of all the PT he got last year and athleticism.
1b. Duncan Robinson - not basing this on what I've seen, but what practice observers have reported and what DR would bring to the starting lineup: elite shooting with length. He has experience in a Beilein-
protégé's offense at Williams. Could be second-leading scorer on team with the looks he'll get. Hard not to put him 1a.
2. Kameron Chatman - He has natural basketball ability and is potentially the best ball handler and passer among the top group. If he can add strength and confidence and let the game slow down, he could be really good. He could also best defend the opposing 4 among this top group. He obviously has starting experience and had some nice play toward the end of the season.
3. Spike Albrecht - He'd have to be healthy and none of the above three would have made "the leap". Unlikely, IMO, with all the competition. But he obviously has experience.
4. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman - If, God forbid, Albrecht has to take a medical redshirt, and none of the competition at the 4/3 produces a starter, Abdur-Rahkman could be a real asset. I haven't looked at the analytics, but he could be our best finisher at the rim. Would be a great spark plug off the bench though and this is even less likely than Albrecht, because it depends on Albrecht's status.
5. Moritz Wagner - Most unlikely, IMO. I'm sure part of his goal at Michigan is to get Sanderson's strength program and experience in the 2-guard/4-guard offense. Could be a great redshirt candidate with the depth at 3/4.
