2019 Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit Safety Dane Belton, an Iowa commit, tells me that Michigan coaches spoke to his coaches this week to inquire about his commitment status. He tells me that he still plans to sign with Iowa on Wednesday, so Michigan probably doesn't have a shot here to change his mind at this point.
U-M inquired a couple months ago but decided not to offer Belton at that point while they pursued Dax Hill to finish up the class. Then Iowa offered and he later committed. So this post just serves to cross a name off the list, if you were curious.
Michigan DID stop by to see Alabama DB Collin Duncan this week as well, and he's an uncommitted prospect that U-M is obviously evaluating. So stay tuned to see what happens next in the search for another safety in this 2019 class.
