Why has msu aka little brother and osu have dominated Michigan 6 out of 7 years and 10 out of 11 years? Better athletes on defense for one reason. Msu is loaded with great athletes and speed on their defense and especially their defensive line. Defense is the reason msu has dominated Michigan the last 6 out of 7 years. The defensive line is BIG and FAST. Quarterback is another position where msu has a better athlete playing quarterback than Michigan does. Connor Cook is BIG and Strong. Shane Morris does not have the size or strength of Connor Cook. Like it or not, msu has a better athete at qb than Michigan does.
Michigan hasn't had a better running back since Mike Hart. Msu has also had better receivers as a whole than Michigan during their dominance over Michigan. These are the positions I think Msu has been better at but their defense has been the biggest reason what is making that team a consistent winner. Only when Michigan can go toe to toe with msu on defense will they start winning like msu has been winning.
Osu has superior talent on defense, qb, running back and better overall team speed. Osu looks head and shoulders better on offense than Michigan. Will that eventually change under Jim Harbaugh? Yes, but I predict it will take a couple seasons before Michigan has the talent to Match osu. This is my humble opinion of the area's where Michigan's main rivals have the advantage. Msu and osu has had the advantage at coaching as well but that is about to change. What's your opinion?
