... here's a sample, with the former Wolverine touching on ...

Michigan's win over Rutgers: "It's great to wake up and be a Wolverine, and it has been great to be a Wolverine here of late. It's very exciting, and I know it wasn't the most thrilling, edge-of-your-seat game this weekend, to watch Michigan take on Rutgers. But to have no turnovers, put point up on the board … defensively, we had one or two big plays we gave up, which is uncommon.

"Other than that, it was a dominant defensive performance. It's very exciting, still, and more and more excitement continues to build as we're getting closer and closer to closing out the regular season, because of how many of those goals are still right there for us to take if we continue to do what we're doing.

Junior quarterback Shea Patterson: "He's just continued to go to work and improve. The pitfalls we thought we might see with Shea Patterson, as far as, he takes shots, and there are times he makes turnovers or tries to force a play, or with the success he's had, potentially getting a little bit of an ego could happen.

"But he has remained consistent, and it's something that Michigan fans should be over-the-top appreciative of. For him to come in and do what he's done in his first year here has been amazing. His composure [against Rutgers] … there were a lot of times he did get good protection, but he's not just standing up tall, bouncing in place, waiting for receivers to come open. He's got to slide and move and step up.

"Not only that, but the receivers have to be on the same page. You see everybody running the scramble drill, running to the sideline. They make it to the sideline, run it deep, and everybody runs that same drill. He's never in a panic. He extends the play as long as it possibly could be extended, under control, and he makes accurate throws, even in windy, cold conditions.

"I don't know what else you could possibly want out of a quarterback. I'm excited we get another year with him, because you might be hearing him on the Heisman talk. It might be way too early to say that, but if he continues to take care of the football and move the ball like he has, and we've got all our receivers coming back, I wouldn't be shocked to hear him at least get mumblings of being on the Heisman list."

Ohio State — "All that really needs to be said is that the player of the game [against Michigan State] was Ohio State's punter. That should tell you enough about what Ohio State's putting forward right now. Not only that, but their punter, who was player of the game? His first punt was a four-yard net punt.

"I don't have anything nice to say about Ohio State, and I'm sure that doesn't surprise you. They have a good defense, I'll give them that. Their defense is probably going to be one of the best that we've seen. They will challenge us.

"But offensively, as I watch them, if [quarterback] Dwayne Haskins can't catch the ball in rhythm and throw the ball on time to a receiver who is running a route in rhythm, their offense is garbage. That's just how it is. They have not found a way to establish a run game, even though they have two of the best running backs, probably, in college football right now. One of them is a de-commit from us, so I don't feel bad that he can't run the football.

"I one thing where I'm holding back and I want to see what they do with it is, I'm waiting for them to come in with more of a Chris Leak-Tim Tebow situation with Tate Martell and Dwayne Haskins, to try and initiate and jump start some run game. The broadcasters were talking about it yesterday, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more of a two-quarterback package, and especially have the big reveal against Michigan at home.

"I'm sure Don Brown and Coach [Jim] Harbaugh are not unaware of fact that this could be a thing that's coming to us. That wrinkle could give us some hiccups, but I don't see them, offensively, being able to move the ball against our defense. They require really good timing, and good luck getting good timing against the fastest defense in college football."
