Some leaks remaining in the front wall contributing to missed scoring opportunities: "We controlled the football on offense by controlling the ball. We're moving the ball and getting good yardage and controlling the game. I just wish we'd put a few more points on the board for those efforts.

"That's the one thing I'd really like to see us come away with. The idea is, you control the ball and let your defense stay on the sidelines, but you want to start getting more points out of it.

"There are some situations — particularly third-and-one, third-and-two, that are a little disconcerting, in that they're not turning them into first downs. We're not doing as good a job when we get down inside the red zone, or at least across midfield, where we're just not coming away with points like I think we should."

Comparing junior quarterback Shea Patterson to Jim Harbaugh: "I'm not sure. [Laughs]. I hope that some of their scrambles are more designed, than having to do it. They're both good quarterbacks, of course.

"I look at Shea and see he seems to be gaining more confidence each week. He made some really good throws and shows he's a threat to scramble. When he scrambles, he can still run or he can pass. Those things make him a really valuable asset to the offense.

"Jimmy did those things, also. He had the ability to break contain once in a while. He certainly didn't have the speed, I don't think, of Shea, but he was able to get outside. If need be, he'd try to run for the first down, and often times got it. If not, he'd find some open receiver.

"There are some similarities, but Shea is a little bit more geared to do that kind of thing. They don't mind him doing it, as long as they keep the ball in our possession and don't turn it over to the other team."

The Wisconsin showdown: "I think it's going to be a close football game. I don't think either team is going to blow anybody out. A turnover can change that atmosphere on the field, but for the most part, it's going to be a hard-fought football game. It's going to come down to who makes the least number of mistakes.

"No penalties. I watch a big play, or a runback, and I turn and look and see if there's a flag someplace. They're just being thrown all over the place. We've got to stay away from penalties.

"I wrote one thing down when I talked about our defense: tackle, tackle, tackle, tackle. We have to be able to tackle … and play good, hard, sound, solid team defense."
