I always enjoy CB's podcast with Doug because I just appreciate Doug's breakdown and analysis so much. It is just straight forward and honest as hell, and it really gives clarity to a lot of the concerns and positives.

Consistency was the word today, and when you review the issues this team is having and has been having the past decade, a lot of it comes back to that one factor. I find myself, when watching the game and being an overly emotionally charged fan at the moment, wondering where the passion is in the execution. So when listening to Doug and hearing the keyword of consistency, I felt that my question of The Teams passion was directly related!

First let me clarify, I don't question their individual passion or that they are not passionate about football. I believe the players in that they are passionate about playing, winning, and everything about Michigan Football. My question comes into their execution during games. Their consistency of executing at the level necessary to win. I have trouble seeing it and have ever since the end of Coach Carr's Era.

It seems to be attributed to how removed the program is from being Championship caliber where upperclassmen who know what it takes pass down their knowledge to younger players. No one on this team today has won a conference championship at the player level. Harbaugh knows how to get it done, but he can't be with the men on the field, which is where that player leadership comes into play. So how does that get fixed?

I believe this team is close and care about one another, but that isn't enough! They need to ascend to the next level and approach every snap, every technique, every assignment, every second, every practice, etc. with a "do or die" mentality! A warrior's path! A passion to do whatever it takes to dominate the opponent. The passion to hold one another accountable because one weakness can be exploited and end in defeat. A fire must be lit inside the players and kept ablaze. You see this level of passion and desire in Bama. You see it in how OSU performs. How Sparty approaches their rivalry with Michigan. Michigan needs to get back to that passion where they believe they are the baddest MF'ers on the face of the planet, and they are going to destroy anyone who stands in their path!

It's not enough to talk about it. It has to translate to their execution and remain constant or "consistent".

What are your thoughts on the question of passion in the game day performance of this program?
