Well At least starting from 1986, the time period that I have been alive watching Michigan Basketball. Someone posted something similar a couple months back, but with NBA All stars and you could only use 15 points, Im just curious to see what everyone thinks.
Using only 15 Points to pick your team. You don't have to use a Small Forward, since there aren't a ton of great players at that position, so If you'd like to use a SG for the SF position that is fine. The only twist I have is picking the coach/system you want to Use.
YOU CAN ONLY USE 15 POINTS TO PICK YOUR TEAM
Point Guard Shooting Guard Small Forward Power Forward Center
Jalen Rose - 5 Jamal Crawford - 5 Glen Rice - 5 Loy Vaught - 5 Chris Webber - 5
Trey Burke - 5 Manny Harris - 4 Ray Jackson - 4 Juwan Howard - 5 Roy Trapley - 5
Gary Grant - 4 Nik Stauskas - 4 Jerod Ward - 3 Terry Mills - 4 Mitch McGary - 4
Rumeal Robinson - 3 Tim Hardaway JR - 3 Bernard Robinson JR -2 Maurice Taylor - 3 Robert Traylor - 3
Daniel Horton - 2 Jimmy King - 1 Lester Abrams -1 Deshawn Sims -2 Maceo Baston - 2 Louis Bullock - 2 Caris Levert - 1 Zak Irvin - 1 Lavell Blacnchard - 1 Epke Udoh - 1 Darius Morris - 1 Dion Harris - 1 Glen Robnson III - 1 Jordan Morgan -1 Courtney Sims - 1
I'll Add - Rudy Tomjanovich - 5 points And Cazzie Russell - 5 points
Coaches
John Beilein
Steve Fisher
Bill Frieder
Tommy Amaker
My Team
PG - Daniel Horton -2 Coach - John Beilein
SG - Dion Harris -1
SF - Glen Rice - 5
PF - Deshawn Sims -2
C - Chris Webber - 5
The Reason I chose this squad with Beilein as the Caoch is because, i feel with this team my pick and roll game couldn't be stopped, with Horton being tall enough to see over the Defense, the Pick and Roll game with Webber or Sims would be deadly. If i chose to run the PNR with Horton and Webber, I would have Harris, Rice and Sims waiting on the wings ready to knock down the 3, so my team would spread a defense out, and if i chose to go to the post with Sims or Webber, it would be almost impossible to double them , with whatever shooter you left open.
Just for Fun what do you all think? and what would be the best Michigan team?
Go BLUE!!!
