I know PFF isn't a flawless metric by any means. But it's a useful tool to evaluate how guys are performing game to game. The grades for the OL are not good. But one in particular is standing out.
Evan Link scored a 27.
You might as well just stick a refrigerator on the field and say, "well at least they'll have to run around it before getting to the QB."
Warren was pressured 14 times on 33 attempts. 10 of those pressures were given up by Link. He scored a zero in pass protection. And no, I'm not joking; I'm not being sarcastic. He actually scored ZERO in pass protection. The last time that happened was Barnhsrt's disastrous performance at PSU last year. And even then, Barnhart still managed a 48 score on PFF. Link had a 27.
And as bad as that is, the coaches obviously believe he's a better option than Gentry or Persi so how bad are they? Hell, Giudice got pulled briefly for Crippen in week one when he Giudice struggled. They had to leave Link in even with that performance.
