here and there over the years, even at times during the RR and Hoke regimes.
Other than a few key moments this year and anytime the opposing team's punter steps on the field, I feel like I'm in the 1970s and 80s again.
For awhile in recent years, the crowd used to actually get excited as the team was preparing to leave the tunnel. Now people barely even seem to recognize the team is getting ready to enter the field.
To make matters worse, I have no problem with piped in music but unlike most programs that actually put some thought to how it is used, UM seems to have a playlist of music that is played at the same time in the game, same quarter, regardless of what is happening at that moment in the game, each and every week.
Again, for awhile the piped in music seemed to be used strategically at the right moments to enhance the game experience AND to create a better atmosphere and home field advantage at key points during the game.
Very disappointing. Some event planning/game management people really need to travel the country a bit to see how some big time programs with big time environments help enhance that home field advantage. Of course if our fans sit on their hands as usual it may not matter.
Kudos to the band though. As usual they have been great at what they always do, as well as creating new ways to engage with the crowd each year.
