What are everyone's thoughts on next season after watching the first three games of this year? I know it was assumed by a lot of people on this board, as well as in the national media, that 2019 was the year that Michigan was going to truly be back in that elite category. Do we still think that? I've got a few questions in regards to that?
1. The obvious one is qb play. It's clear speight isn't the guy to lead us where we want to go. Is that guy on our roster currently? Is 1 year all McCaffery needs to be the guy? Will Peters finally step up?
2. Lack of elite running back. While I like our stable, we don't have someone I'd drafting as an "elite" player at the position. Higdon and Evans are solid, but not spectacular. Is Walker the 5 star we all thought he'd be? Is Samuels ready to step up a couple weight classes and be the guy?
3. O line play. Is our o line ready to take that next step next season? I know guys seem to high on a couple of the freshmen we got this year but I have a hard time believing they'll hop right in and be a dominant line after one year in the system.
4. Defense. No questions there. Lots of young talent and the best coordinator in the game.
Sorry if it felt like I'm rambling but these questions just crossed my mind while laying in bed. Thoughts? As always, Go Blue.
