Today’s poster 9221 showed us again how different we have become as a fan base compared to other schools. We watched Oklahoma jump to a 24-7 lead on Iowa State and he and many others were jumping on Campbell and expecting them to get blown out. They fought and had the ball to win vs a superior talented team in Oklahoma.
Why does he and others in our fan base believe that a 21 point lead is too much to overcome? When we watch our Wolverines the last couple years go down by double digits vs a good team, we expect them to get killed. We don’t see the grit and determination to fight back. I don’t blame our players for this, this is a culture problem and it’s getting worse under Harbaugh. We can practically tell by halftime if we are going to win or lose based on the culture this program has become.
I don’t know if Matt Campbell is the answer or not but the fact is he has built a great culture at Iowa State and his players are going to fight for every inch even if they don’t come out on top. I see our guys quitting on Harbaugh and I just don’t see how a couple staff changes is going to change this. We need a fresh start with someone and if it’s Campbell I would be good with that.
