The better team won. We lost to a better team who made the plays when we did not. This was one of the top two talented teams in the nation, and their staff had done a crap job this year coaching this team. What we failed to question, though some of us have, is what is wrong with an OSU team that is a two point conversion away from losing to Maryland, wa blown out by Purdue and should have/could have lost at Penn State, that in one week they can pretty much look like the best team in the nation?

Selection committee has a tough job, how do you put OSU in the playoffs after Purdue and Maryland games, yet how do you not after the MI game?

Some stream of conscious from the game:

Clean jersey Haskins, we never touched him. Pathetic

OSU TFLs and sacks all day long, a dark contrast to our DL which was supposed to be elite

Paye, Winovich, Gary’s and Uche, of those names I recall one TFL play by Winovich that was significant.

Patterson most inaccurate all year, his consistent shorted balls at best took away any big play on the catch possible and at worse created incompletes.

Black, DPJ and Collins were a mismatch all day, yet didn’t throw the ball to WRs downfield til we were behind two scores, when we did Collins DPJ made plays and it was 2:00 in 3rd qtr.

Down 34-19, 41-19, running the ball, no urgency. DPJ, Black and Collins could get whatever they wanted, never given the chances to be difference makers when they could have been

1st two UM red zone possessions were fg, Ohio states 1st two were TDs

Wasted 1st downs when trailing by 2-3 TDs. Every play counted, every play took time, wasted time and downs. Loser mentality, we have an elite qb who can make plays with elite WRs.

1st two point conv attempt was terrible decision. You take the damn point in the first half. You don’t know what the second half brings. Sure enough, next two possessions we hold Ohio State to two fgs, bit bc we passed on the extra point we trail by 8 not seven. Dumb

I said in August our best three corners were Hill, Long and Thomas, and not necessarily in that order. Watson has played well this year, but is not the athlete to play against the 5* talent in spaces. That was clear then and exposed today

This is not good for recruiting. I don’t expect to land a 5* after this in the 2019 class. We, imo, have an exceptional chance for 6 of the top 24 overall kids in the nation on Rivals rating for the 2020 class, this wasn’t a good look.

TEs, McKeon and Gentry especially, soft today, likely bc it was the most physical team they played. Play making TEs shouldn’t drop the ball, and these guys have done just that in key plays all year. McKeon getting lit up by a 180 pound Wade, pathetic. Our TEs should want those matchups, but they get lit.

Where was josh Ross. Has played explosive and sure-tackling, didn’t see him after Q1 til late 4th. Need his one on one tackling and closing speed, not to mention physicality.
