I'm a Chicago sports fan and I have gone through what you guys are experiencing when the White Sox, Bulls, Bears were all mediocre. I could care less about professional football. I always look at this way - I want to see us win a championship in the 5 team sports I care about:

• Michigan football (saw it in 1997, want the outright one now)
• Michigan basketball (I was in school during the Fab 5 but want to see us get one)
• Chicago Bulls (was in Chicago from the last 3 rings Jordan got)
• White Sox (somehow, the last team I expected won in 2005 and I saw a WS game)
• Blackhawks - well they have just been on the fire the past 3 years or so.

I personally dislike the Pistons, Lions, Wings, and Tigers but if I were a betting man, I would say the Tigers are a few good pitchers away from getting there but I don't see that happening. I think the Pistons have a young nucleas and are likely 1 solid FA away from being competitive. I live in the Bay Area and talk about Sports pride here:

• Warriors just won
• Giants have won 3 of the last 5 pennants
• 49ers under JH were insanely good
• A's other then this year are generally in the playoffs

It's been fun following sports up here.
