So my daughter received the dreaded "deferred" on her early action application. She applied to LSA and expressed to be considered by the School of Education. She has a 4.0 GPA and 31 ACT from a prestigious Catholic high school here in Chicago, the same one as a certain 5 star HS football recruit. Plus I am a somewhat significant donor to the athletic department. Not in the Ross range. But they should be familiar with my name. Michigan was my daughter's number one school. So a little disappointing.

Anyone here with any kind of inside knowledge on what she can reasonably expect? How many deferred does a school like Michigan typically take. I realize this can fluctuate from year to year. I suspect there might be posters on this board that might have greater insider knowledge on the process. Is anything we can do to advance her application other than submitting a letter of continued interest and her first semester grades? I am not sure if a call into admissions would do much or is really a good idea. Throwing this to the board.
