Our teen wants to build a gaming PC (at probably the worst time in history to do it) but with shortages, it looks like a preconfig is what we'll have to do.
I don't want to get it to only hear 6 months later that "I can't run this" or "I can't play that". The main games he plays are Rust, Subnautica, Minecraft, and Apex. He's not someone who obsesses over framerate at all, but it would be nice to play things with the graphics turned pretty high up. He also has an Oculus Quest 2 that he's dying to pair with a powerful PC (to play the top titles).
So, we're about to pull the trigger on this:
Gamer Xtreme Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-11700F - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 - 1TB HDD + 500GB SSD
Will this do the trick? It gets great reviews (with an added cooler) and we would probably upgrade the RAM to 32 if needed. We'd like to stay around $1500ish...so if you can recommend something better in that range we'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you for any insight!
