Since I can't do anything here in Moscow other than take walks, I've been talking one almost every day. Here are some photos if you guys are interested. Finally got some snow today, but yesterday and last weekend it was unusually sunny for this time of year...which resulted in some nice photos. Those of you who are friends on Facebook (all two of you) have already seen this.
This is called Patriarshy Pond, one of the most elite areas of Moscow. This is when the snow was at its heaviest.
Red Square...the GUM department store on the right, and the temporary ice skating rink next to it.
Spassky Tower in the Kremlin from Red Square
St. Basil's Cathedral from a new park they just built between St. Basil's and the river. Former site of the Rossiya Hotel, which was the largest in Europe for many decades during the Soviet Union.
View along the Moscow River looking back on the Kremlin walls, and the skyscrapers of Moscow City in the distance.
One of Stalin's "Seven Sisters"
The Bolshoy Theater.
Just a random cathedral...there are dozens of these in central Moscow.
Moscow River looking back on the Peter The Great statue.
The same Stalin sister as in the previous photo, but from farther up the river.
One of many new pedestrian streets in Moscow that were created in the lead up to the World Cup in 2018.
Another view of the Kremlin from Zaryadie Park...same park I mentioned earlier.
