OT: No one uses turn signals in Michigan anymore??

So, just spent the last week driving from Detroit metro up to Traverse City and then back down a week later. I would estimate that maybe 1/3 of drivers use their turn signals to indicate a lane change on interstate freeways in Michigan. When did this happen? Did the drivers of the great state of Michigan decide it just isn't necessary any longer to indicate a pending lane change when traveling at 80 mph on busy interstates? I'm not talking about M-10 in Clare County by the way. I'm talking busy interstates like 75, 275, 96, and 23. What gives? Laziness? Selfishness? Too busy posting to Facebook? Sheesh....
