Hello Fort Friends,

I don't mean to take up board space during this week, but wanted to pull out all stops.

Does anyone know and / or recommend a Neurologist in the Ann Arbor / Metro Detroit-area?

Context:

Seeking help for my Mother. She's 68 years young and an amazing woman, who has spent her life helping & healing others! For nearly the last 2 years, she's had issues with gait, balance and walking without the support of a walker or someone holding her hand. She has had falls, including one which tore her rotator cuff in April. It's really limited her quality of life. As you can imagine, her spirits wane due to frustration and feeling like she cannot do the things we all take for granted. Her confidence is at a low point, especially after a fall last night.

She had a TIA about 10.5 years ago. She was put on Coumadin as the Neurologist at the time thought she had anti-phosphol lipid syndrome. Within the last 6 months, a cardiologist stated she does not have this, and put her on Aspirin instead. Related to the balance / gait and movement issues - some believe she has Parkinson's. After hearing this, she felt depressed and broke into shingles. Our Family has been constant in letting her know that Parkinson's is not fatal, and with medication and consistent exercise symptoms can diminish!

I feel it could be some form of Hydrocephalus. We have a visit with a Neurologist tomorrow, so hoping to get some guidance. Our Family would just appreciate the care of a trusted and experienced Neurologist. The last couple years have been heartbreaking - we just want her to be happy.

Thank you to anyone who can help! Go Blue!
