Just got back from the doctor’s office where we discussed the results of my MRI. Apparently due to an imbalance in how I walk and run, I’ve managed to wear down the cartilage in my knee to the point that I’m getting bone on bone. Physical therapy will help get all the muscles working right, but no more high impact sports for me. No more running, soccer, basketball, or ice hockey. And even though I haven’t done many of these the last four years after the kids were born, I was still hoping to get back into those sports soon and just started running again when I felt the pain that resulted in the MRI. Now not going to happen. Only biking and cycling for me from now on. I’ll miss it.
I guess I could theoretically get my knee replaced, but not sure those high impact sports would be a good idea with an artificial knee.
Getting old sucks.
