So I just binged season 1 on my flight home from Singapore. All I can say is, wow.
First, the 18 yrs Avery served initially was a travesty. Clear as day that the county had it in for him.
I told a buddy, for the 2nd trial, Avery is either the dumbest guy alive or was framed. He was about to get a massive payday and be able to live without worry.
So torn on this, as it is clear the county once again did some very questionable things. More importantly, they really railroaded the nephew. That poor kids life was taken from him through manipulation. How can appeals be heard and not overturned?
How could a jury convict, assuming they believed the death was knife and gun without any DNA? As a juror, absolutely no way I could have found him guilty.
Such a scary thought that the justice system can be so bad.
