The trend. This was talked about much smarter baseball folks than I before the season. MLB Network seemed to have a handful of people making this statement.

Then one looks at last year with the Tigers, A's, Dodgers etc. and they didn't do much in the post season.

Dombrowski trades a possible budding 26 year old pitcher in his prime for Cespedes, who Dombrowski has wanted since he left Cuba. (Maybe the 21 million a year deal scared him off as well).

Let Scherzer walk when we could have kept him but if offense is the new wave the contract would be waaaaay over the top.

Bring in Gose, good bat and can steal.

So, Greene and Simon do what they can and we make up for it with offense. Still have an Ace (Price), Sanchez a legit 2 and Verlander your 3.

Offense has been down even though the Tigers offense was very good last year but is there a new trend brewing? Load up the offense with good pitching?
