the games are simply too boring. yes they are long, but a long game is fine if there's action and pace.
analytics have made the game less watchable. starting pitchers go 6 or 7 max and there's an army of relievers that throw 95+ coming in to pitch one inning at most.
shifts mean fewer ground balls are getting through the infield for hits so more hitters and swinging for the fences or at least increasing their launch angle to hit more fly balls.
harder throwing pitchers and guys trying to hit it out mean a ton of strikeouts.
there are too many 5-3 games with 5 home runs and 20 combined strikeouts. and each team using 4+ pitchers. who wants to sit there for 3 1/2 hours to watch strikeouts and pitching changes. snoozefest. smart people have figured out the best ways to score and prevent runs but it's hurt the overall product IMO. it's not a fun brand of baseball to watch.
I'd consider a rule to eliminate infield shifts and possibly lowering the mound once again.
