i was on a 3 day golf trip in Nebraska (Dismal River Club) with 7 buddies. The place is located out in the middle of nowhere in the sand hills of Nebraska. Until Friday we were one of about 4 groups playing. We played 18 holes each morning and then alternate shot until dark.
On Thursday, we saw a low flying military plane flying over us at an incredibly low level. We all waved at the plane and the pilot tipped the wings while doing the flyover.
When we were in eating lunch the general manager came to our table and asked if we saw the flyover. We told him about the pilot responding to us waving and he said he knew.
He went on to tell us that he knew because the pilot had worked on the construction crew that built one of the courses many years ago and was a pilot in the Air Force and was doing the flyover the course because it was his last day of active duty. He had called the general manager and told to tell us thanks for waving that it had made his day. Incredible experience for all of us.
