Just saw that Fry’s Electronics will be announcing on Wednesday that they’re closing down all their stores for good. When I lived in California from 2000-2004, half of my disposable income was spent on alcohol/bars/clubs and the other half was spent at Fry’s.
I loved everything about that place, especially the ridiculously temple-style design of their stores.
RIP to one of my favorite stores ever and their addictively stupid catch phrase at the end of their commercials. “And REMEMBER...your best buys.....are ALWAYS ......AT FRY’s.....(GUARANTEED!)”
(The commercials were much more amusing on TV than in text with the actual sound effects combined with several drinks and other substances swimming in my body at the same time).
