Well I know we all can stand a little bit of good news after this past weekend ! As many of you know , the Board showed some INCREDIBLE kindness and raised over 25,000 dollars for a young couple , who lost their young son Daniel Hunt in a fire this past summer up in Hillman Michigan , a small town about 25 miles west of Alpena . As I had mentioned a committee had been established to oversee the funds at Chemical Bank in Hillman for the family , and the committee has been trying to get things moving along , as they were living in a mobile home with their 6 year old daughter . The couple had been salvaging all they could from the fire , and also were trying to figure out how to proceed . So here is where things stand :
The existing burned structure was torn down and hauled away about 45 days ago . The committee decided to BUY a " kit " to build a small 1200 foot home from a local lumber company in Hillman . This kit includes siding , lumber etc . to help with the structure , and they also were fortunate enough to have received a grant from Home Depot for alot of the electrical supplies for the building . Then also a local church donated more items to help furnish the house , as most everything was found to be destroyed in the fire . The kit was 16,800 dollars , it was 3500 dollars for the demolition and removal of the old structure , and they have the walls and roof up. I also can say , the roof has almost been completed as of Friday . I am a tech boob , but IF I can get pictures to post on here , I will as my one and FINAL post .......I still cannot believe how so many of you gave money , prayers , clothes
and warm wishes to a young couple you did not know who lost the most precious thing in life , their child .
