prior to their showdown with Notre Dame? A leave of absence?

Two wins at home would have helped his health but USC screwed up by not retaining Coach O who has as much fire as JH and the good sense to hire some good assistants including UM's Baxter.

This really isn't the story. Sark is an alcoholic/drug abuser. They did the right thing in getting him help and after he is out of rehab they are going to have a meeting of the minds and find out if this is the right profession for him.

Sad story.

you'd think the school would have done diligence with his drinking at UDub. Total embarrassment for USC and its AD.

I don't know the whole story. I 'heard' that he went through a recent divorce but bottom line is Sark is screaming for help. This should be the primary focus and then Haden can 'let him go' but this is a human being we are talking about irrespective of all the other things that obviously need to be addressed.

It's going to be a tough time for Sark but he will better off once he starts seeing things clearly even when unemployed.

here's a lot more:

Sunday afternoon, Sarkisian was placed on leave of absence after reportedly showing up to a special teams meeting intoxicated. He did not come out to practice. Athletic director Pat Haden was notified and Sarkisian is reportedly seeking treatment for substance abuse.

In the hours since the initial news of Sarkisian’s leave of absence was reported, several more allegations of him being drunk in front of the team, including once on a team plane and most recently during the win against Arizona State, have surfaced.
Haden briefly addressed the situation Sunday afternoon, but said he had only been made aware of it about an hour before he met with media and didn’t have much to offer.
