STP: "How is that off topic?"

Random Michigan fan: "You're on the Michigan Football board"

STP:" Oh... Nevermind.

Anyway, Would have preferred five years incentive heavy with a low buyout, but without an A.D. I can understand this contract.

Hey Bud, are you pleased with the hire or had there been other names that raised the Gopher "eyebrows" a bit?

I am pleased. By Gopher standards, we have a chance at a decent recruiting class. I also think Claeys will become a very good coach.

Nationally, No AD means no chance for a "Big" name coach especially with the likes of USC, South Carolina, Illinois etc. ahead of us.

I think Jerry's entire staff is a class act though I am not convinced your coach could take you to the next level. I think Minnesota can get to a point where they are consistently a bowl team. Also, I would say Minnesota is a MUCH more attractive job then Illinois - yes USC will have their pick of the best coach followed by South Carolina but Minnesota could be a great destination for a very good OC/DC. I look at how well both Tom Herman (at a school like Houston) and Narduzzi (at Pitt) are doing in their first year as head coaches and I am surprised that Minnesota did not opt to take a chance with an up-and-comer in the college ranks.

I don't know. I saw a segment on BTN is isn't very demonstrative. Very very quiet.

This wreaks of the Hoke hire in the sense he is over his head. Wouldn't be my choice. On a bright side...I think he can do a better job than Hoke because he is just sharper but that is a low bar.

By the way...I wish coach Hoke the best and hope he can do what he loves and appreciate that he tried his best. Not his fault he got hired. Thanks for the Sugar Bowl :).

I wonder how Jerry Jr is as a recruiter. We have also seen (both at the pro and college levels) that it's a big step from assistant/coordinator to the HC job. Some guys can pull it off, some can't.
