So I’m trying to decide right now if I want to try leasing (have always owned). Little back story, bought a car brand new in summer 2016, totaled it two weeks ago (unfortunate timing for two deer to run in front of me, lost control swerving, whole mess), so now I’m in the market. I’ve asked a few people (all different answers really) and I realize it’s pretty circumstance dependent, so here’s a little about me:
-mid 20s attorney, no kids, unmarried.
-live downtown near my office, so not a ton of long drives.
-usually keep cars 3-4 years since high school.
-good credit, so not too worried about an auto loan or lease approval.
My thought: I really like getting new cars, while I’m young and don’t have kids, is it crazy to just lease with the idea hey I want a new car in 36 months? Or is that financially idiotic compared to getting a car with 15-25k miles on it and owning it?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
