Anyone had experience filing a wordmark for their business? If I understand it correctly, the search on USPTO is pretty comprehensive, yet simple to determine if the sought after wordmark is taken or not. My next question would be: do you/did you use a lawyer, or online service, and what is ballpark cost?
It appears basic filing is $250, but I’m assuming legal fees vary greatly based on using an online service or specialist lawyer/firm.
It seems a logo trademark would be more comprehensive, but my questions are specific to business/product naming to legally own as a brand asset.
