I am planning a trip to DC on September 29th for four days before I head to Michigan for the MSU game. Looking for some biking advice.
Mt. Vernon is one of my favorite places to visit. The last time I was there I took the boat which was really a lot of fun. In doing some research, I see there is a bike path from Roosevelt Island all the way to Mt. Vernon. Looks like a lot of fun.
I have been reading up on the trail online and have quite a bit of information. Just curious if any locals have any advice or any comments from others who have done the trip. It will be the first few days of October so hopefully it will have cooled off some.
Any advice on where to rent a bike for the trip? Close to the start would be great. I know it is about 18 miles each way but that will not be an issue.
