My wife is a super cool Aunt for the 10 nieces and nephews on her side. She probably drops $100-$150 on them every year (and the oldest is 22 or 23). Don’t care about the money.
My kids recently turned 10 and 11. Two of her three siblings didn’t even so much as acknowledge their birthdays nor did they last year.
Close family but pissed my kids don’t register a thought with them.
