Just read an article released today, adidas just passed Jordan brand as #2 in shoe sales in the U.S. Nike obviously still #1, but their sales fell while adidas rose nearly half.
Also read an article a month or so back that Nike was having the unimaginable problem of declining sales of Jordan brand across the board, which is noticeable if you walk into any sneaker store, as you can walk in and buy most Jordans, and 5 or so years ago you had to stand in line. For the past year or so they've really been relying heavily on retro releases, and haven't really had anything new that was turning heads, while adidas has had the NMD, Ultra Boost, the Yeezy models, etc.
Which is why I'll never understand how they f***ed up so bad with most of our stuff. Coming from a guy who's sneaker collection is 90% adidas, as well as countless clothing items, the stuff they did for us was really bad, even outside of the highlighter bright "maize".
The recruits definitely like Jordan brand more, for sure, but when I see some of the stuff adidas is doing now, just makes me wonder how they didn't "get it" when it came to our apparel, etc.
