OT: A little perspective no thanks to NorCal wildfires...

Haiku Backwards
...On my 12 mile commute into work this morning, as I drove north, the sky appeared to be extremely foggy, then like a thunderstorm was coming, then I realized this was smoke and could see plumes from fires in the hills to the north.

The highway off ramp was closed and the back roads were blocked by Mendocino County Sheriff.

I discovered that the small Native American reservation that I work for in Redwood Valley, CA lost 5 homes to wildfires that ravaged the community in the wee hours this morning.

Also, many other friends in Redwood Valley lost their homes.

One hour to the south in Santa Rosa, the destruction was worse.

Please keep all of these displaced families in your thoughts.

We are safe here in Ukiah, but have our "go bags" ready just in case.
