Obviously I know you guys want to make the Playoff but that is unlikely after the Conference Championship games. I think the Big 10 could potentially get two teams in depending on what the committee does but Michigan won't make it because they won't have won the Conference. If two Big 10 teams make it it would be Ohio State/Penn State or Ohio State/Wisconsin depending on wins the Big 10 Championship game. Anyway, Jerry Palm projects Michigan vs FSU in the Orange Bowl. What do you guys think about that potential matchup? We haven't played each other since the game in 1991 in Ann Arbor. That matchup would excite me. Thoughts?

Opportunity to make a statement, that's for sure, although I believe it will be hard for this team to rebound after the disappointing finish when hopes were sooooo sky high!
Ultimately, I WOULD prefer to play someone who is on the uptick, add a USC or a Oklahoma to the mix, & not someone who ended their season on the downside (Tennessee, Georgia type).
That said, we better perform or we'll be see as a team that took care of the softies but couldn't take out the "real teams".

Yeah.... playing FSU in Florida. I'll pass, but I don't have a vote :). Why is it that our bowl matchups always seem to put us in the spot of everything to lose but very little to gain? JMO.

UM beat both PSU & Wisky.. if it's an ugly low scoring game I'm not sold that UM doesn't get in over the winner especially if it's PSU who UM pummeled.

We'll it is about as good of a Bowl as you can hope for aside from making the Playoff. The Rose Bowl can't happen and the Sugar Bowl is SEC vs Big 12. Other than the Orange Bowl against us, you would be looking at the Cotton Bowl vs Western Michigan or a non-NY6 Bowl.

You need to pull for an ugly slop fest between Wisky and PSU and you need to pull for Colorado to beat Washington to have a real shot. Or VT to beat Clemson which could happen but isn't likely.

Disagree, Schmidt Nole, OSU will get in w/o conference title. Michigan beat both Big 10 teams playing 4 championship. In addition went head on against #2 team in Nation (2 OT). with possible losses to Clemson/ Washington we could be in. Big 10 has 4 teams in top 10..consider strength of schedule... consider Colorado playing for coffee title and ranked 9...we beat Colorado

We'll see. There really wouldn't be precedent to select two teams for the Playoff in Michigan and OSU who didn't win their division but there is a first time for everything. Personally if I am on the committee I don't give a Playoff spot to either PSU or Wisky regardless of what happens. The key will be Clemson/Washington versus Michigan. No way Michigan gets in over Clemson if they win but it is possible to get in over Washington but I still think winning your conference is the big deal. Michigan has to pull for upsets to happen.

You are correct that we need help and regardless of Penn & Wisky I would not select either team. What I look at concerning Clemson is that of wins over top 10 opponents. We have larger margins of victory over opponents and 3-1 vs Top 10 teams. I think Clemson has a committee GOD on their side and they want to see a possibletter rematch. I am holding on to this last hope of a playoff spot. In my opinion we were and are the better teams from #2 down. OSU won, yes, but we shut down the offense goal-line to goal-line. Michigan has the best defense to stop Bama. The current teams will not and cannot do it

We had a great year (that could have been greater... oh, what could have been :)), and I've watched a ton of football this year outside of Michigan. Alabama is so much better than everyone else that I don't know if anyone will slow them down. Not Michigan, not Ohio State, certainly not Clemson. With that being said, this is where Alabama will read it's press clippings for the next month and possibly get in their own way. Outside of self destructing, though, I don't see Alabama being beaten. JMO.

Clemson gave Bama trouble last year...where Alabama has a problem is with quick tempo spread teams...

Saying that...Alabama has looked better than any team that I have watched this year...

One major key to beating Bama would be offensive tempo as you mentioned. In addition the defense must step up against the Bama offense which in my opinion is not over-powering. I am not at all counting out my Wolverines. There is a lot to consider when making playoff selections. In my opinion Defensively Michigan would be the only team to hold Bama down...Yes..I said it....smile...I truly believe Michigan is one of the top 2 teams in the Nation
