I have no idea how this will play out...but...IMO ..Jim needs to play by the meritocracy rules he claims to coach , and this would result in him leaving .
Recruiting is the lifeblood of a program and we have huge holes on the roster that need to be filled asap. Jim had a bad recruiting class the year he was hired and even though we got what we felt was our man , that was another coaching hire screw-up.
RR, Brady ??? These transitions have set us back a year or two each time. They don't have to !!
As much as we dislike OSU..they have had transition due to character flaws and with Day may have stepped into a better situation. We are hurdling toward signing day with more uncertainty than any program around ...AGAIN..
We have seen what these poor transitions and coaching decisions can do ....
Why should we expect better results on the field when these program defining decisions are some of the worst in CFB ? These decisions are those of a poorly run company or entity , why should we expect different results ?
Everyone involved in the program should see that we have painted ourselves into a corner and have a real chance of a self inflicted coupe de grace.
" Leaders and Best": nothing about our football program has shown that for years. Competition has winners and losers and we have done everything we can to go from football's biggest winner , blow through being good, and headed to the depths.
One more bad decision and we will will go from being laughed at , to being ignored.
