This commitment absolutely does not surprise me. I was actually going to bring him up in my next podcast as a fast-rising senior who could well at end up at Michigan. Just a few comments:
- He visited Michigan with a teammate for the Air Force game
- He transferred to D.C. power St. John's Prep from a private school in Pennsylvania, Malvern Prep. He played his freshman year at Downingtown Bishop Shanahan. Plying for St. John's rep really increased his recruiting exposure as they play a national schedule that is quite tough.
- Of the uncommitted 2018 QBs he was my third best uncommitted QB after superstar Justin Fields and Tanner McKee
- Tall pocket passer with a very strong arm. Another kid who, like Joe Milton, as a junior completed less than 50% of his passes in stats that were made available for six games:

- Started off his season at St. John's with a bang. 18-21-289, 4TDs & this throw:
- The other day he had a so-so game in a tough 21-17 loss to national power St. John Bosco. He was10 for 23 for 193 yards and a touchdown, but he was pretty much throwing against an all Power Five secondary.
Michigan deciding to go for Doyle also may tell us something about how confident they are about Joe Milton
