During a conversation with my brother-in-law, a Domer, he said “someone in the BIG has to catch-up with Ohio State so they don’t have such a direct path to the playoffs every year.”
I responded that no one in the BIG is going to catch, or even approach, them at their current level. Rather, it’s going to take a year with an average QB or a coaching change finally gone wrong, and OSU coming back to the pack as a result, for them to be challenged in the conference. He seemed quite disappointed with that answer, though I think it’s true.
