Yesterday's game, at least in our section, wasn't one of those games where you are packed in so tight you can barely move. I've been to plenty of those and you just ignore getting a knee in the back or people leaning back into you. It's to be expected in a crowd this size. However, a couple of rows ahead of us, a group arrived late and people were in their seats. The people in their seats moved back a row and are now in front of us. There were some no shows next to us so one of their group moves in and sits next to me. Turns out he is the boyfriend of the young woman now sitting in front of me. Now to be honest, I already wasn't a fan of this woman because of the way she reacted to being told to move, and then watching another interaction she had with stated boyfriend. Anyway, during halftime, we are all seated and she keeps leaning back to talk to her bf and landing on my leg. It's irritating but I say nothing except to my wife. But finally she just kind of reclines back, and stays there, on my knee. Maybe she was unaware, but I finally say in a not nice tone, "Excuse me, but could you please stop resting on my leg!" The woman looked mortified, apologized and sat up. Of course I instantly felt horrible and was about to apologize but I didn't. She and her bf were a little subdued now, but after all that, she simply slid over so that now she was directly in front of him and could lean back all she wanted. Man, I figure I am old if I let that little irritation bother me and the guilt of having said something about it
stay with me the rest of the day. I guess maybe I'm not cut out to be a grumpy old man.
