Years ago I heard a basketball coach/ color commentator say that he generally did not want to call a time out to set up a play. He said it just gave the defense time to regroup and plan defenses to the logical offensive play.
i have grown to like this philosophy. There are exceptions but playing helter skelter, more often than not produces a better result. It sure has for M. our last set up attempts have poor, except for Baker’s wide open missed shot.
i feel I am I the distinct minority in this but IMO it takes a really good design and a very good player to be successful.
