O.k...Was listening to the radio broadcast for a few minutes...

Brandstadter...(spelling may not be correct). He sucks. Hack. He isn't a play by play guy. He sucks.

Dierdorf...no wonder he got chased off professional jobs. He isn't as bad as Brandstadter but both are basically blowhards on the radio. I would have to listen to them some more but pretty bad. I'd rather listen to some college trainee guy like they do on the Big Ten network.

How do I put this properly. They both are too loud and not a good match. I guess I could stand Dierdorf if he was paired with a more straight lower key play by play guy. He should stands out as really bad and thank goodness I don't have to listen to them.

Also...Marcus Ray. Another awful guy. Skene is pretty good. Balas good. Lot of really talented people but some of these guys should really look for new professions.

Sorry to be harsh but I just can't listen to Ray (great UM player and probably great guy) and Brandstadter.


Your thoughts on Brandstadter? Spielman says some stupid things but I can at least tolerate the guy. Most of these people are pretty good. Love the BTN main guys (DiNardo and Griffith) and they all don't have to be great but Brandstadter...as bad as they come.

I like Brandstaeder. Homer, homespun guys will never be of the same calibre as national guys, but so what?

As a 'caster Ufer sucked, but I loved listening to him because he's one of our own. Simple as that.

Fair enough. My UM friend loved Ufer and I always looked at him like he was strange? Didn't understand but I guess when someone loves your team it doesn't matter.

Brandstadter really should not be broadcasting, he was great as the color man and sidekick to Frank Beckman (who was outstanding, IMHO). So you basically have two color men instead of a lead broadcaster. I have to disagree with you on Marcus Ray, he is very good at analyzing the team, he really understands what Michigan is all about, and has a high level of respect for our opponents and what they bring to the table. Check out the online Rays of Light segments on the Michigan Insider WTKA morning show, he's fantastic and worth listening to.
