Agree: Unlikely MD is going anywhere, in view of his age and the time it takes to build or rebuild a football program. He could jump to the pros for the $$$, but he is already well paid, and he is not a pro-type coach. The pattern of de-commits may mean something, but not sure what. Maybe current players are dissatisfied, and spreading negative experiences. Maybe other programs get interested in some of these players when they learn MSU is after them. Hard to know. But, it does look like the MSU program is on a downward path after 4-5 years of being at the top of the conference, and a couple of top 5 national finishes. They barely beat Purdue and Rutgers, two of the weaker programs in the conference, and won on a big time fluke in AA. It caught up with them at Nebraska. They can't run the ball and have no pass defense. Ohio State might score 60 points on them; and Penn State will beat them as well. Next year they will fall back behind OSU, Penn State, and Michigan in the division, and will be hard pressed to stay with those programs. Given that trajectory, one might understand why MD could be looking elsewhere. Give him credit: he brought MSU back. It's just hard to stay on top.
