And I don’t want to hear we can still win out because we’re not beating OSU, but now that it’s clear we’re not a contender, I’d like to see Mullings more on defense. And I appreciate Chris Evans commitment to make it back, but he’s not the future. Let’s shorten the RB rotation. I’d like to see more of Henning, Corum and Wilson. Wilson is actually a good contributor now. I’d say replace Fliliaga with Zinter. Can Steuber play LT? I know he was challenging Mayfield for RT last year. Hayes is not a good LT. In fact, he’s bad. I’d like to see more Jalen Perry and see what Seldon has too. Mazi Smith must be downright dreadful if he can’t crack the 2 deep on this DL. I saw two rather large ladies in those scooters at Walmart today that would do a better job of taking up space than our current DL.
And coaching. Harbaugh is the only coach I know that refuses to call plays that are working, yet repeatedly runs plays that have failed for the last 3 years. The failure to challenge that pass on 3rd down in their last drive is gross negligence. Joel Klatt had a better grip on what Michigan should’ve been doing than our handsomely compensated coaching staff.
And Don Brown may be a great guy and he may rack up great numbers against the lower half of the B1G, but his failure to adjust against the pass is starting to border on insanity. I’m not sure what role our safeties play, but it certainly isn’t to be around the ball. I’m not criticizing their talent, but our scheme seems to make them as noticeable as the moon at noon on a cloudy day.
We are good at kicking extra points though. Very impressive. Always good to end on a high note.
