If Michigan doesn’t want to hang the Fab 5’s old banners then they should make a new one that acknowledges their time in Ann Arbor and pays tribute to how they changed the game as it was played along with their cultural influence. It could be as simple as hanging banner that says’ “Fab 5”, the years all of them were together, a silhouette of an all black basketball shoe, and all 5 of their numbers grouped together in some way. Its a brave new world and long past the time to give those guys their due. Just imagine the ceremony that could happen before the tip-off against sparty at home..ESPN would carry it live in prime time and the juice from the event would elevate the program even higher than it already is. Sales of a special t shirt and a reissue of their classic jerseys with their names on them would make big money for everyone, but I’d be especially happy for Ray Jackson and Jimmy King, who would finally get paid as they should have been all along. Hell, I bet Jordan Brand and Nike would reissue the all black Jordan’s again.
