1. No pass rush. None. You cannot bottle up Haskins when he has all day to throw, he'll put up big numbers.
2. Mismatches in pass defense. Cannot cover backs and receivers w linebackers. And Watson got burned so many times because he could not stay with speedy receivers when Haskins had so much time to throw. Ton of PIs as well. Could not cover crossing patterns. IU exposed that; Meyer noticed.
3. Shea was throwing everything short. Even when the catch was made, no YAC. Very costly. On top of that Gentry dropped all three balls thrown his way.
4. We are a ball control team, not built to come back from 2 and 3 TD deficits.
5. Blocked punt and picks enabled them to run up the score. Can't give up easy scores.
6. Not a game changer, but kick the damned extra point early in the game.
7. Shea made some poor reads, but he was under pressure a lot. Early down runs for a yard or two put us in predictable passing situations. Their front seven is very fast, making it hard for Shea to escape the pocket.
8. We were fortunate to be down 5 at the half. Key moment in the 3rd Q was 4th and 2 from the OSU 45. Convert that and maybe score on that drive. False start forced a punt. They scored again and just kept scoring. Sustaining drives would have been our best defense.
9. We don't have home run hitters with speed on offense like Hill, Paris and #17. We have to throw it over the top for big plays which requires better pass pro than we got today.
10. Guys I loved today: Collins, DPJ, Moody.
